Description
Ourico Pods originate from the South American tree in the family Lecythidaceace, harvested for the Brazil Nut fruit inside.
The Ourico Pod is light brown in coloration, with a darker variation of brown on the inside. The thick exterior shell has a cork like texture, and measures roughly 4” in diameter. Natural variation will occur with this product.
In a bioactive terrarium the Ourico pod creates a natural hide-out in reptile and amphibian habitats. It is suitable for high humidity environments with its all-natural durable properties.
Think outside of the box!
The size and sturdiness of this pod can be used to secure small tropical plants to your terrarium floor. The small hole in the bottom of the pod allows for necessary drainage for the plant's soil.
