Overview
MultiTest™ Phosphate measures inorganic phosphate to less than 0.05 mg/L in both marine and freshwater aquaria. The kit uses a multi-cavity plate, allowing up to 6 tests simultaneously, and includes a reference sample for validation. It helps monitor phosphate levels to control algae growth and maintain optimal water conditions.

Set-up / Use
- Phosphate in natural seawater ranges from <0.01 mg/L to 0.3 mg/L. For reef aquaria, keep phosphates ≤0.2 mg/L.
- Phosphates are non-toxic to fish and most invertebrates, but ideally kept below 1 mg/L to minimize algae growth.
- In freshwater, the allowable concentration depends on nitrate, manganese, iron, vitamin levels, and plant growth.
- For freshwater aquaria, sample dilution with distilled water may be required if phosphate levels exceed the kit’s range.
- Follow instructions for color comparison using the included reference sample to ensure accurate readings.
