Description
Overview
Seachem Equilibrium™ is designed to restore and maintain mineral balance and general hardness (GH) in planted aquariums. It contains no sodium or chloride, which can be detrimental at elevated levels, making it ideally suited for RO/DI water or other mineral-deficient water.
Equilibrium™ raises essential mineral and electrolyte content—calcium, magnesium, and potassium salts—to promote plant growth and support fish metabolism, while maintaining compatibility with carbonate hardness (KH) when used with Alkaline Buffer™. Unlike competing products that rely on sodium chloride, Equilibrium™ provides minerals that are biologically beneficial to both plants and fish.
Key Features
- Restores and maintains GH and mineral balance
- Sodium- and chloride-free
- Ideal for RO/DI water or mineral-deficient water
- Supports plant growth and fish metabolism
- Compatible with Alkaline Buffer™ for KH stability
Sizes
- 300 g, 600 g, 4 kg
Directions / Usage
- To raise GH by 1 meq/L (3 dH), add 16 g (1 tbsp) per 80 L / 20 US gallons of water.
- Add to new water when setting up an aquarium or performing water changes.
- For optimum solubility, mix with 1 L (1 qt) of water before adding; a slight haze may appear but clears within 15–30 minutes.
- Do not use Equilibrium™ when replacing evaporated water.
- For tap water, measure GH first and adjust dose as needed.
- Use the Seachem Digital Spoon Scale for precise dosing.
- Recommended target GH for planted aquariums: 1–2 meq/L (3–6 dH), ideally matching KH of 1–2 meq/L (3–6 dKH).
